Hot Melts Can Support Sustainability
Low or no-Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions levels are also an important factor we consider when creating new adhesive products, and hot melt adhesives are a good example of how a technology can minimize environmental impact. Made of solid pellets, these adhesives are not composed of solvents or water that can make products heavy to transport. Henkel Introduces Loctite® Halogen-Free Adhesives for Assembly of Handheld Electronics
Eliminating Environmental Concerns, Creating Greener Products
In response to industry initiatives and legislation designed to protect the environment from halogenated materials, Henkel Corporation has introduced a new line of Loctite® adhesives and sealants that meet the requirements of IPC IEC #61249-2-21. Used primarily in handheld electronics such as cell phones, PDAs, notebook/laptop computers and hard disk drives, these adhesives are formulated to contain less than 900 ppm bromine and chlorine, and 1500 ppm total halogens. Often halogen levels in these products are undetectable.

Henkel’s TecTalis coating reduces costs while streamlining the paint pretreatment process
GM and Henkel Take TecTalis Global
MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – General Motors Corporation and Henkel (www.henkelna.com) have joined forces to launch the first global, full production trial of Henkel’s new conversion coating process, TecTalis, at GM’s manufacturing facility in Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil. Henkel’s TecTalis conversion coating process is the automotive industry’s first non-phosphate conversion coating for multi-metal bodies. This technology is projected to cut GM’s process costs, and improve efficiency of the vehicle assembly pretreatment operation while reducing the environmental impact. READ MORE
